I had the opportunity to talk over Zoom with the Business Development Manager and Vice President of Operations at XGen Networks, LLC, the company behind America's first 5G Broadcast. I had questions ranging from 5G Broadcast device support to their stance on DRM Encryption. WWOO-LD received a STA from the FCC, not to use ATSC 1.0 or ATSC 3.0, but to use 5G Broadcast, the cellular industry's equivalent to ATSC 3.0. Allowing WWOO-LD to start using 5G Broadcast shows that the FCC is open to other broadcasting technologies that could be used on the public airwaves. Enjoy this video?
