Kuksa carving. Hollowing the bowl of a large sized wooden cup. 475ml capacity.

Just a quick simple video to show how I hollow large sized Kuksa. I use four gouges for these, but you only need the two Pfeil ones for a smaller diameter and shallow kuksa, with a spoon knife for tidying up the sides of the rim, and at a push, the bottom of the bowl. Using this method really speeds up the work and makes it almost effortless. Gouges used 1. Pfeil straight gouge 8/25 (8 is the sweep type, 25 is width in mm 2. Nick westermann 50mm swan neck gouge 3. Pfeil long bent gouge 8L/25 4.
