From 1951 to 1962, the US government was lighting up the desert sky with 100 atomic bombs at the nearby Nevada Test Site. It sounds wild now, but back then people were obsessed with everything atomic. From atomic-themed drinks, toys, diners to atomic-inspired fashion shows, the atomic age was more than just a scientific breakthrough; it was a cultural phenomenon.
