The World Match Racing Tour heads to Bermuda once again for the penultimate stage of the 2015 ISAF Match Racing World Championship. With Bermuda now hosting the 2017 America’s Cup, the annual 67th Argo Group Gold Cup attracted the very best teams vying for one of the most prestigious trophies in match racing history – the King Edward VII Gold Cup. Year after year, the event has attracted the top match racing talent from around the world. The list of previous winners since 1985 includes 13 skippers who have featured in an America’s Cup campaign. And they’ve won the King Edward VII Gold Cup trophy 23 times during that span, led by Sir Russell Coutts’ record seven titles. This year, 16 teams including eight tour card skippers and two America’s Cup teams - SoftBank Team Japan’s Dean Barker and Artemis Racing newly appointed helmsman Francesco Bruni, all lined up to get a piece of the action on the International One Design boats. Match racing legend, Dean Barker who last sailed on the World Match Racing Tour in 2005 was recently crowned the Bermuda National Match Racing champion in September. Watch a short feature about Dean’s view on match racing and how the game has changed since the America’s Cup moved to multihulls. Catch all the action from the Argo Group Gold Cup, the penultimate event on the 2015 World Match Racing Tour.
