2023 FXLRS Low Rider S with Alpha Performance Engines CR483 cam. I was curious what effect putting the “quiet baffles” from Vance & Hines would have on the performance. My hypothesis was that the torque dip would be fixed and I’d lose a bit of HP. I got the idea from a watching Tommy Millers channel. Needless to say I was surprised, gone is the peaky torque curve and its flatter across the RPM. The bike now rides even better than before and fuel economy is better than standard. I’m getting 280+ kms to a tank now riding around normally. I normally fill up around 14L so about 5L/100km. Anyways here’s a video of how it rides now and it's to show that it isn't a pig to ride at all. I have also put new spark plugs in and 1275N clutch springs. I did notice slightly increased lever effort. If you can ride with normal clutch, then you can ride with the heavier springs. The bike jumps off the line it’s insane. Sound wise it has muted it slightly. The idle doesn’t “clap” anymore but it still sounds nasty - My GoPro mic does not do it justice. 4th gear SAE Mainline Dyno numbers (add 10-15% for comparable 6th Gear DynoJet numbers). 94 HP / 110 TQ - SE Air Cleaner and VH eliminator 300 (Stage 1) 110 HP / 121 TQ - CR483 PowerPlus kit 112 HP / 118 TQ - Retuned with modified “quiet baffle” inserts. 0:08 Street Riding/Cruise Manners 3:08 Dusting off the cobwebs 5:43 Talking Dyno Sheets
