Most Korean talismans are protective. Bujeok (부적) painted paper charms hung above doorways, tucked into wallets, pasted on car dashboards. They ward off bad luck. Keep evil spirits away. However some were also used for imprisoning spirits for over several generations. A Seoul collector of old things purchased seven antique bujeok. They began to rustle at 3 am. The patterns indicated the direction. The old family compound. It was his great, grandfather who removed people from history and sealed their spirits into those charms so they could not haunt him. Park disposed of six by burning them. He let them out in a proper way. But the last one was reluctant to be set free. It wanted to stay with him, to live through his body as it used to live in the paper. 📌 Subscribe for more: Korean horror stories Asian folklore and ghost legends True horror storytelling ✍️ Inspired by channels like Hong Kong Horror and J-Nightmares but with a focus on the untold ghosts and legends of Korea. #asianhorror #koreanhorror #ghoststories #folklore #urbanlegends #horrorstories #trueghoststory #supernaturalhorror #cursedobjects #scarystories #generationalcurse
