Split in February feels completely different from the Christmas season, yet the city still has an energy that surprises you. We came back because my husband had some business to take care of — and we used the chance to revisit the places we missed during our December trip. Last time Split was full of Christmas markets and festive lights. Now, at the end of February, the Riva is bright with winter sun, cafés are full, and the market is buzzing with locals. Even Bačvice Beach is alive in winter. Swimmers, Picigin players, and people enjoying the shallow sandy bay make it clear that Split doesn’t really “sleep” in the off‑season. Seeing the city in two different winter moods — December and February — shows how vibrant Split stays all year. We also finally tried Salt Gluten Free House, a restaurant we discovered too late during our last visit. It’s funny how something small can stay with you and bring you back.
