FURSATI (MY OPPORTUNITY) Supporting the improvement of the living conditions of people with disabilities exposed to the consequences of the Syrian crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic in the Municipality of Wadi Musa, Petra The project is funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, implemented by Fondazione Terre des Hommes Italia, in partnership with Petra Association for Special Education فرصتي: لدعم تحسين الظروف المعيشية للأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة المعرضين لتداعيات الأزمة السورية ووباء كورونا في إقليم وادي موسى. تم تمويل المشروع من قبل الوكالة الايطالية للتعاون الانمائي وبتنفيذ منظمة أرض الانسان الايطالية بالشراكة مع جمعية البتراء للتربية الخاصة 48 beneficiaries with disabilities (PwDs) trained on soft skills and technical skills to work inside the dryclean 1 fully inclusive and accessible dryclean equipped within the framework of the project with light rehabilitation works and provision of 9 machines 8 employees with disabilities hired inside the dryclean 15 interns with disabilities working in local facilities (2 hotels, 1 hospital, 2 community-based organisations, 1 factory) the 48 PwDs have been provided with Cash for Health to access specialised services and asistive tools (including hearing aids, eye glasses, crutches, orthopedic shoes) Around 60 people from local community have been involved in the capacity building programme, with trainings on Disability Inclusion, Community Mobilisation and Sign Language 8 Open Days developed and implemented by 5 community leaders who are actors of change themselves in order to promote the inclusion of PwDs within the community and in the social life in the governorate of Maan. With the Open Days we have reached more than 200 people, with and without disabilities, thanks to awareness sessions and recreational activities. More than 4500 people have been reached through our awareness campaign on social and local media
