Video #1 of 2 (3/26/2023): In which, there was an opportunity to revisit a park near Sarasota! For one thing to mention; this is the driest I have ever seen the Upper Myakka Lake become. We are at the time of year when minimal rain occurs. Surprisingly; there are several areas that contain separate wildflower blooms. Having it this dry may not be an entirely good thing because our wading birds are entirely obligated to survive in these forms of habitats. The next portion of the video focuses upon the Soft-Stemmed Bulrush. Ironically, it is apparently separate from the rushes. Rather, they have a relation with the sedges (that have edges). What threw me off is that the stem is rounded, just like rushes. Either way, they are a native plant, and they will only inhabit areas with plenty of water. https://www.gardenia.net/plant/schoen...
