Hi guys! Your fall may be coming but our spring is approaching. There are still some cold weather going on around here in Kyoto even in early spring time, however, we are really looking forward to the warmer seasons right now being in the northern hemisphere and all... Japanese people enjoy feasting with their families, friends and co-workers under the fully bloomed cherry blossoms during Ohanami season. Ohanami normally means an outdoor party under the cherry trees, people go to parks, gardens or mountain settings to get a good view of cherry blossoms. The peak bloom period in Kyoto depends on the weather usually coming out late March and the beginning of April. We also strongly recommend you viewing wonderfully illuminated cherry blossoms in the night “Yozakura” it’s SUPER AWESOME!!! Cherry blossom symbolizes the ephemeral nature of life due to the way it blooms spectacularly but only for a short while. As they are in full bloom for a very short period of time(a week or so), it reminds us that our lives are also brief and beauty is fleeting.
