Performed by Simon Beard (decks) and Christophe Read (vocals + production) with Dan Leigh playing God. Foolagan brings something fresh to the UK sound: trap-inspired drums, disco-weighted bass, and that unmistakable Mancunian attitude—raw, warm, and honest. The song doesn’t just hit hard—it glides, bumps, rolls, and lands right where it should: in your chest and on your weekend playlist. This music video was shot in some of the most culturally rich corners of Manchester. We didn’t set out to make a tourist film—we set out to make something real. Something that reflected where the sound came from, and who it was for. ⸻ THE 420 SHOOT – HULME, MANCHESTER We began filming at 420 Manchester, the annual gathering in Hulme Park, where people of every background and rhythm come together to share music, stories, and space. What started years ago as a grassroots nod to cannabis culture has bloomed into something far bigger: a celebration of community and unity. Picture this: Grassy fields filled with colour, rhythm and laughter. Rastafarian elders chatting with skater teens. Queer couples sunbathing next to families sharing homemade food. Drums echoing through the park. A city in sync. That’s what 420 looked like this year—and Foolagan was there, not to perform, but to soak it all in and capture the atmosphere for this track. It was the perfect backdrop for The Weekend: open skies, open hearts, and no barriers between anyone. ⸻ WALKING WITH LEGENDS – A HOMAGE TO MANCHESTER MUSIC After 420, we followed the beat through Manchester’s living history. 384 Kings Road, Stretford – Morrissey’s Old Flat This is where the quiet poet of punk lived when The Smiths were beginning to spark. There’s no plaque, no guided tour—just a sense that something once stirred behind those windows. It felt important to be there. We didn’t film like tourists—we stood in respect. This city raised so many voices. We’re just tuning into the same frequency. Boneheads – 36 Bloom Street Yes, that Boneheads. Still standing, still serving. The takeaway that kept 90s bands fed after gigs and where deals and dreams were whispered over chips and gravy. A greasy spoon with a golden aura. We went not just for nostalgia, but for roots. Burnage – Home of the Gallaghers We ended in the neighbourhood that gave the world one of the most iconic bands of all time. Walking those streets, you can still feel the weight of the melodies that came out of them. There’s pride there. Not the kind you shout about—but the kind that nods and keeps walking. We felt that.
