Craig Stevens, who plays the part of Mark Mercer, would go on to star in his own NBC series, playing a well-dressed private investigator who loved cool jazz in the Blake Edwards series Peter Gunn. Years later he and his wife, Canadian actress Alexis Smith, would purchase Miss Young’s home in West Hollywood, in which they lived until their deaths. Kathleen Freeman (playing Frieda Foss) appeared in several episodes during the run of the Loretta Young Show, most notably in the series of “Inga” programs. She made her film debut in Wild Harvest in 1947. Her most notable early role was an uncredited part in the 1952 musical Singin' in the Rain, as Jean Hagen's diction coach, Phoebe Dinsmore.
