Die erste Revision der Playstation 5 neigt zu Überhitzungen aufgrund schlecht gekühlter Speicher-Chips, die sich im Betrieb auf über 90 Grad erhitzen können. Dies kann zu Spielabstürzen, Freezes oder Grafikfehler in besonders anspruchsvollen Spielen führen. Betroffen sind sowohl Modelle mit Disk-Laufwerk, als auch die „Digital Edition“. In diesem Video erfahrt ihr, wie ihr die Temperatur der RAM-Bausteine und anderen IC's reduzieren, die Wärmebelastung senken und Hitzeproblemen entgehen könnt. Bedenkt, das diese Anleitung nur einen Workaround bzw. eine Übergangslösung darstellt und nicht die Anbindung an eine zusätzliche Heatpipe ersetzt. Hier gilt es abzuwarten ob und wann Sony eine überarbeitete Kühllösung verbaut. Des Weiteren muß die Konsole geöffnet werden, wobei die Garantie verloren geht. Selbstverständlich können die Wärmeleitpads auch in anderen Konsolen wie der PS4/Slim/Pro oder der XBox One/Series S & X, sowie in handelsüblichen PC's eingesetzt werden.
