Great intro to aerodynamics resource: https://amzn.to/2ESoyWV More advanced: https://amzn.to/2MuwS5F UPDATE 10-31-18: In the video I said something about "Winglets move the tip vortex back behind the wing" and this isn't entirely true. The key takeaway is that they capture the vortex in such a way that they can put a small amount of the energy into a forward vector, actually producing thrust from the tip vortex instead of drag. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Winglets are commonly found on modern airliners and RC flying wings. Using CFD simulations, we dive into how they work, and what designs are MOST EFFICIENT. For more information, see my FliteTest article: https://www.flitetest.com/articles/th... BTW, who else uses Autodesk CFD? It's a great tool if you are a STUDENT, because students get it for FREE! And you also get access to their Cloud Solver, which is awesome if you don't have a powerful computer, or you don't want to put the strain on your machine. However, STAY AWAY from 2019! It is HORRIBLE. On the other hand, Fusion360 is an AMAZING CAD program. Maybe we will go into this more in a future video... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I will be putting out videos like this every week, covering a wide range of engineering topics from aerodynamics to 3d printing, so hit that subscribe button to stay up to date! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ #aerodynamics #drones #aerospaceengineering
