The Power of Projection in Cosmetic Rhinoplasty with Dr. Kian

For today’s 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, I want to talk about the power of projection, how far your nose comes out from your face. My lovely young patient was bothered by the fact that she didn’t have a lot of definition to her nose. She also didn’t love the aesthetic of her nostrils, but she couldn’t put her finger as to why. Upon assessing her, I recommended that we project her nose out. Now, a lot of patients hear that and say, ‘well, I don’t want a bigger nose. I came for more tip definition, more refinement.’ But in patients who have a little bit of thicker skin, the power of projection can be quite awesome. So we projected her tip with a cartilage graft and that brought her tip further out from her face. But as you can see from the results, it has completely changed the dynamic of her tip. She has far prettier nostrils. I also did do an alar base modification, meaning I brought in her nostrils a few millimeters on each side. Her result is absolutely incredible.
