Growing trees in Malawi for a bright future | Tangu Tumeo at GLF Accra 2019

Tangu Tumeo is the principal forestry officer at Malawi’s Ministry of Natural Resources, Energy and Environment, where she leads the country’s work to restore its land. A pioneer, Tangu and her team led the development of the country’s National Restoration Strategy. By building a strong strategy, Tangu worked with important stakeholders to invest $2 million USD of Malawi’s national budget to found the Malawi Youth Forest Restoration Programme.
