Vanakkam makkale! Right now, where are we going, you ask? We are going to the Sulakkal Ther Festival! This is a grand festival that happens every year. This is the first time I am going. From the temple, they had told me to come on the Ther day and shoot the video. So, I asked for permission and got it. But today is the last day… and we thought we wouldn’t be able to go for the Ther at all. Somehow, we managed to go! Come on, let’s go into the video! We’ve actually reached the town. As you can see, we can already spot the Ther. All the cars are parked, and people have gone ahead. There’s a place a little before the temple where everyone parks their vehicles Let’s go and park our bike there. Okay, we’ve parked the bike Now we’re starting to walk... Everyone is staring like, “Why is he just walking around with his phone?” 😂 Honestly, I feel a bit nervous too... Still, it’s okay — we’ve come here to shoot the video, and that’s what we’re doing! This is that Sulakkal Mariamman Temple! Actually, it’s a very famous temple! You might have seen this in the movie “Thevar Magan” Yes, many scenes from that movie were shot here! Everyone’s wearing the same type of dress, This is the Valli Kummi dance group – they’re performing here. Ah okay, we’ve entered! You know how they say "Thiruvizha crowd"? Here it is — the Ther we came searching for! And guess what? It was a double dhamaka — there were two Thers! I was so happy! Everyone had gone close and was taking selfies — I too went near, offered my prayers and came back. Look at that little girl — how focused she is, watching everything! And when you say Theru Thiruvizha, won’t the boys catch the vibe? Yes, they were totally vibing and dancing like crazy! We saw those boys too — they were dancing super happily with full energy! Okay, finally — here is Arulmigu Sulakkal Mariyamman Temple for you all! Amman came on the Ther and went around the town — And then, the devotees carried the idol inside the temple on their shoulders in a palkudam (cradle-like structure). As soon as they entered the temple, Mangala vadhiyam (auspicious music) was played, Aarthi was taken, and the women welcomed Amman — Thus, the festival came to a grand conclusion. Look at this giant Ferris wheel (raatnam) – how amazing it looks with all those lights! After eating, there are so many, so many fun stalls here! Everything you can imagine is available at this festival. A festival like this happening in our town — I just can't believe it myself! Look there — see how those boys are having a blast and enjoying themselves? And in this festival, the games are fully focused on the kids. Look at that little boy trying to knock down the tumblers with that toy gun — And guess what? He hit all the tumblers! He was playing so well! But once his turn ended, he asked to play again — And immediately, they gave him the gun and let him play again! They’re selling balloons, kids are driving mini cars — When I see all this, I feel like I should have played all this when I was little!
