The weather is pretty good today, so we're going on a day trip to Qingshui and trying some local delicacy - rice cakes. Let's set off now! Next we came to the Port Arts Center, which covers an area of about 3 hectares. Its architectural style is an imitation of the southern Fujian style, which is elegant and noble. In addition to Jiangnan-style bridges, flowing water, corridor-style corridors, and pavilions, there are also exhibition halls, performance halls, artists' archives, lecture and conference halls, outdoor theater leisure areas, study classroom areas, and administrative areas, etc. It is a stage for humanities and art performances and a place for cultural leisure for local people. The exhibition hall is about the art of searching. The entrance is as big as a door to a house, creating an atmosphere of searching. Painting, photography, sculpture, ceramics and cultural relics are often held here. Performance Hall: The white membrane roof above the hall is the most distinctive building in the park and a multi-functional performance venue. The outdoor theater is an open performance space with six outdoor performance squares, including the Art Square, Qingshui Square, Rotating Square, Totem Square, Melon Shed and Elegant Book Gallery. It is very suitable for performances of local operas, open-air concerts, holidays and other outdoor activities. Then we came to Qingshui Military Dependents' Village Cultural Park, which covers a total area of 6.25 hectares. It was formerly the Xinyi New Village of the Air Force Dependents' Quarters, and was later approved by the Ministry of National Defense as a cultural preservation area for the old military dependents' villages. Walking through the narrow alleys and undulating roofs of the military dependents' village is like traveling through a time tunnel and returning to the past, which adds to the intellectuality of the tour. There is also a courtyard market on every second Sunday. After visiting the military dependents’ village, we came to Tianshuitang, the ancient Zhao family house, which was built in 1890 and has a history of a hundred years. The design of the ancient house is a two-entry six-guard house surrounded by dense bamboos, with a pond of pink lotus in front. It is a quaint courtyard house that has been preserved quite intact. After visiting the old house, we went to Qingshui Elementary School, whose history can be traced back to 1897. During the Japanese colonial period, it was a public school for Taiwanese people. Its classrooms were completed in 1935, the 10th year of the Showa era. After some changes, it was changed to Qingshui Elementary School in 1945, and then to Qingshui Elementary School in 1968. In 2008, it was evaluated by the county government at the time as having historical significance and the building needed to be preserved, so it was officially designated as a county-level historical site. In addition to being partially open to the public, it is also a local elementary school for local children to study. The reason why we came to this elementary school was to visit the only historic school in Taiwan. From the school gate, to the U-shaped brick classrooms, the old lecture hall, the Cheng character monument, the river hall, to the teacher's Japanese-style dormitory, they are all historical relics full of characteristics. Walking in the campus, in addition to seeing the red brick walls that have gone through the years and are still simple and delicate, you can also see the decorative features of the inner columns of the porch, the overlap of the rain shelter, the serrated patterns of the columns on both sides, and the concave and convex horizontal lines of the washed stones under the brick walls of the classrooms in the corridor outside the classroom. You can also see that on the left and right glass windows of its six Japanese-style dormitory buildings, there is glass unique to Qingshui Elementary School, with the word "water" printed on the glass. According to the locals, the reason for this is to avoid the valuable glass from being stolen, so the word "water" is engraved on the glass as a mark to prevent theft. It is really a very special historic school. After visiting Qingshui Elementary School, we came to a very special painted wall, which is located in Qingshui Xining Community. There is an iron bridge in the community. Whenever a train passes over the bridge overhead, it feels like being on the streets of Japan. You can also see a cat painted wall. Although the pattern is not large, it adds some warmth and cuteness to the cold wall. It is really a special community. After playing in Qingshui for a whole day, my stomach was rumbling. Finally, I went to eat some Qingshui local delicacy - rice cake. It was time to end the journey today and head home.
