A teacher at a government higher secondary school in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district was arrested on Saturday for thrashing a student who wrote "Jai Shri Ram" on a blackboard. He has now been suspended, along with Principal Mohammad Hafiz. While the teacher, Mohammad Farooq, has been arrested, the principal of the school remains at large.
