🚀 Health Checks in Kubernetes – Complete Introduction In this video, we are basically diving into one of the most important Kubernetes concepts — Health Checks. Many people think if a Pod is running, the application is fine. However, running does NOT always mean healthy. Since Kubernetes is an orchestration platform, its job is not only to start containers, but also to continuously verify whether applications are actually working. That is where Health Checks come in. In this video, you will understand: ✅ Why we need health checks ✅ What exactly health checks are ✅ Where and when we use them in real-time ✅ How Kubernetes decides healthy vs unhealthy ✅ Alive vs Ready difference (high-level) ✅ One real production use case We will also discuss how Kubernetes goes inside the container, runs a command or script very frequently, and based on the return code, decides whether the container is healthy or not. Exit code 0 means healthy, non-zero means unhealthy. This is where Kubernetes either recreates the container or stops sending traffic. Eventually, this is where production stability comes from, despite of internal application failures. 👉 In the next video, we will go deep into Liveness Probes and Readiness Probes with real YAML and demos. If you are keen on DevOps, Kubernetes, or cloud-native engineering, this video will clear your fundamentals and prepare you for real projects and technical huddles.
