Retrofrogg here; lately I've moved away from bezels and have been working on some different retro gaming projects, including this - getting emulated games running properly on a CRT TV. I had been getting into using bezels and shaders, but you can't beat the real thing and a CRT just gives a better look overall. Here is a short video demonstrating the Launchbox frontend running on a Windows 10 PC outputting to a 27" LCD monitor, with games (MAME) being sent to a 20" CRT monitor (Sony PVM-20M2MDE). The PC has an Nvidia GPU, though also a secondary AMD Radeon HD5450; the AMD outputs to the CRT using CRTemudriver and via the UMSA scart adapter (RGB into the CRT). This allows a 15Hz signal to be sent to the CRT and for games to be displayed in their original resolutions & aspect ratios. Modelines for the monitor were tweaked with vmmaker and Retroarch with CRT switch res was used as the emulator. Works great, though might replace some of the capacitors in the future to improve geometry further. Big thanks to @Riggles for walking me through the setup of this!
