Tri-Rail testing continued with the F40PHM-3C/F40PH-3C series, this time with #810 (former Amtrak #363) performing brake testing between 71st Street, near Iris Interlocking, and the Miami Dade-Broward County Line. The test trains comprised of five Hyundai-Rotem coaches and one cab car. The 807-811 were rebuilt by Progress Rail in Patterson, GA and deadheaded to and from their contracted work on CSX trains Q452/Q453 for the most part. Locals presumably brought them the last mile to Patterson. All the engines as far as I know sport Nathan P5A horns, as well as have the body built out to the rear of the frame. The marker lights are LED as well. This chase was fun and spent with friends. I do apologize for the shakiness in one of the run-bys as it wasn't anticipated they come this quick and I wanted to be on the other side, but had no time to set up there. We get plenty of horn action this time, at 79th Street grade crossing and also at Dunad St in Opa-locka, by the Tri-Rail station. At the end, another parody of our good New York Central fan friend in a very similar setting to one of his clips :)) Keep in touch!
