This video is in response to the many comments asking for a tutorial on how I created my Dx7 / 80s style electric pianos on my Prophet Rev 2. I didn't have time to make a proper tutorial, so I just pointed my iPhone on the Prophet's display while programming a piano from scratch. I know the video is terrible but you can read from the display which parameters I'm tweaking and hear how they affect the sound. The basic steps, at least in my way of doing it, are: 1) start with softer sounding waveforms, like triangle or saw-triangle 2) sync oscillators and choose a high note on Osc 1 3) assign LPF envelope to the pitch of Osc 1, fast attack and very slow decay 4) assign "note number" to envelope amount to balance low and high notes 5) add a chorus effect 6) once you've set these basic parameters, it's all about finding the proper balance between envelope amount, cutoff, osc1 pitch and wave shaping; the piano must have a clear attack without sounding too harsh. you might want to assign key velocity to envelope amount, Lfo's on pitch and wave shapes for tremolo, etc.
