The Oven’s Deep Dish Pizza Challenge Is So Difficult That They Extended the Time Limit!!

American pro eater Randy Santel versus The Oven's 6lb (2.73 kg) "Big O" 14-Inch Deep Dish Pizza Challenge hosted by The Oven in Owensboro, Kentucky!! I kicked off the new year 2025 by attempting restaurant food eating challenges all around southern Indiana and the state of Kentucky. For competitive eating food challenge #3 of many, I headed to The Oven in Owensboro, Kentucky so that I could attempt their "Big O" 14-Inch Deep Dish Pizza Challenge which had only previously been beaten by my competitive eating friends Brandon ‪@DaGarbageDisposal‬ Clark and ‪@EliLessig‬, who both finished in more than 29 minutes, but below the 30 minute time limit (when they tried the challenge). Because they both finished in just under 30 minutes, the owners James and Shelly decided to bump the time limit up to one hour so that local people would have a better chance of winning. Therefore, I had the full 60 minutes (1 hour) to eat their biggest 14" diameter Chicago-style deep dish pizza with three meat toppings plus lots of cheese and sauce. I ordered my pizza with ham, grilled chicken, and hamburger meat since I was trying to limit my calorie intake that day. I was trying to become just the third champion to win my $40 meal free plus a $25 gift card to come back and use later, a sweet t-shirt proclaiming my victory, and a spot on their Wall of Fame. Please note that before I started the challenge, the owners offered me $50 cash instead of the $25 gift card to thank me for coming... if I beat the previous time record set by Brandon.
