Astra Tower: How Jacobsen Construction Took Utah to New Heights

Astra Tower, a 450-foot luxury apartment high-rise in downtown Salt Lake City, is Utah's new tallest building. Comprised of 40 stories, Astra Tower includes 377 studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units, as well as two levels of penthouse suites. The high-rise welcomed its first residents in August 2024. Its best-in-class amenities include an urban park atop the five-level parking structure, a full-service fitness center with multipurpose studio and a clubhouse with a chef kitchen and movie theater. Astra Tower is a LEED Gold (official certification pending) building that was designed and constructed to address environmental issues prevalent in northern Utah, like air quality and water conservation. With its prominent place on the skyline, Astra Tower stands out as an instant Salt Lake City icon and a stirring showcase of Utah builders’ growing capacity to build to taller-than-ever heights on tight jobsites in busy urban locations.
