Going way back to 1996 for some absolutely fabulous racing at the1996 Frittenden September 15th Grasstrack. Richard Smith and Terry Giles battle it out in the 250cc Solo class, and in the 350cc Solo's Vince Kinchin, Dave Mears, and Mitch Godden dice all through the heats, and the 350cc final was superb, but which one of the 3 came out on top? In the 500cc Solo's Mitch Godden would also have a say in the result, but could he get the better of top local favourite Chris Tritton? Also in the mix was Julian Phipps, Mark Giles, and Robin Pilcher. The LH Sidecars saw a Welsh invasion, with British Champion Neal Owen riding his 600cc single cylinder engine with great effect in his usual flat out style. But fellow Welshman Hywell Phillips would not go down without a fight. John Arnott, and John Fish have been in cracking form all year, so these crews added to the spectacle of the Left Hand Sidecars. Rob Wilson had to start favourite for the RH Sidecars, but there were plenty of crews capable of stopping him from taking another win at Frittenden. Dave Steer, Mick Turrell, Colin Blackbourn, Lee Ray, and Gavin Newlyn to name a few. A spectacular days racing, with some spectacular crashes as well.
