The boat had several large, fresh fish in it. The banker was impressed by the quality of the fish and asked the fisherman how long it took for him to catch them. The fisherman replied, “Only a little while.”  The banker then asked,, “well, Why don't you stay out at sea longer and catch MORE fish?” The fisherman thought about it and replied that he had enough to support his family's immediate needs. The banker asked “But what do you do with the rest of your time?” The fisherman replied, “I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, relax with my wife, go into the village every evening, where I drink wine and play the guitar with my friends. I have a full and busy life.” The banker laughed and said, “I am an Ivy League MBA, and I can help you be successful like me. With your talent, you can fish more and sell them all, and with the money you can buy a bigger boat." The fisherman liked the idea, "And after that??" he got excited. "And with the bigger boat you can make even more money to afford to buy a fleet of fishing boats," said the banker. Then you can hire people to help you, and open up your own production plant and be the biggest distributer of canned food in the world! You’ll make millions and be rich, like me!” "Really, and after that?” The fisherman asked. "Then you can retire and do whatever you want!!" said the banker "You can move to a house by a fishing village, wake up whenever you want, catch a few fish, then return home to play with kids, have a nice afternoon nap with your wife, and when the sun sets, you can join your buddies for a drink, play the guitar, sing and dance the night away!” The fisherman blinked and look at the banker… “But isn't that what I am doing now?” Sometimes, we chase the idea of success when what we may want for our life… is actually something more easily achievable than we think. It's wonderful to have ambitions, but it's equally important to LIVE our life now with appreciation and happiness. Don't be so focused on the life you want in the future that you're not content with the life you have right now. Work hard and achieve your goals, but whilst doing all that, don't forget to be happy, always.  ----
