Rest In Peace Greg Allman, who passed away yesterday at the age of 69. We were at my Cousin’s birthday party yesterday when I learned that Greg Allman had passed away. Someone sent Lynn a text about the news knowing that she was a big fan. When we got home, we fed the cats and had a little over an hour before we had to leave to go see The Smithereens at Daryl’s House. I had left my bass out and plugged in, so I bought this song off of iTunes and sat down to quickly learn it. I spent a little more time with it this morning and just recorded it as my little tribute to him. I’m not a big Southern Rock or Allman Brothers fan, but Lynn is and, because of Lynn, I’ve seen both The Allmans and Skynyrd a bunch of times. This album, Seven Turns, came out in 1990, the year before we were married, and we saw them on this tour. The song is “Good Clean Fun” and the bass was played by the late, great Allen Woody. As I said, I threw it together quickly. It’s not perfect and the bass is a bit louder in the mix than usual, but I just wanted to put something out there to pay my respects. I’m playing the ’76 Guild B-301 fitted with a Zero-Mod Thumb-Rest. http://www.zero-mod.com/models.html
