West Fork Fire Road San Gabriel Mountains

The West Fork Fire Road in the San Gabriel Mountains runs through the Angeles National Forest above Azusa in the San Gabriel Mountains, following the West Fork of the San Gabriel River. The nearest access is highway 39. Closest landmarks are West Fork National Scenic Bike way, Cogswell Dam, Red Box, and the drainage West Fork of the San Gabriel River. It is both a fire access road and a multi use recreation corridor. The views of the West Fork fire road are amazing this time of the year December 27th, 2025. The video footage is taken by Go Pro and a DJI Neo 2 Drone which worked well and provided great footage of the terrain and basin. In my experience a day after it rains is one of the best days to go mountain biking. The fire road is composed of sand, gravel, and rock. There is no mud, the surface of the fire road is ideal for mountain biking. Usually after a day of rain, you can see for miles in any direction. The air is clean and brisk.
