Yet again, Chasewater Railway demonstrates it's origins as a former Colliery Line with it's substantial fleet of mixed mineral wagons and MGR wagons. These were a later development in BR days to supply modern power stations with coal onto conveyors from these bottom emptying wagons which didn't have to wait around in sidings to be unloaded hence the 'Merry Go Round' title as they kept moving!! A rare sight now of this constant shunting of loose coupled wagons and nowhere better replicated than here at Chasewater. The two loco's featured also operated the normal passenger train services (none of which are included) and were rotated between them and the coal train movements on a day of sunshine & showers. Many thanks to all the volunteers who give their time & energy to make such events possible.
