Continuing our belated celebration of Chinese New Year, we've got the full version of the McDonald's Mulan Happy Meal ad, this one coming from MisterGameCube's Nickelodeon at Nite ad break video. The longer version has scenes cut from the shorter version, mostly the ending bits, such as the girl playing with one of the toys I had on her dad's head. How cute! Yes, I had some of the toys when the movie was still in theaters. That pull-string toy was so cool, as was the Mushu shooting statue toy! Oh, yeah. These toys were made to tie in with the theatrical release of Mulan. As there were more toys made for the movie's home video release! Yeah, remember when McDonald's did Happy Meals to tie in with Home media releases? Yeah, so did I. I miss those days... So, yeah. The ad is pretty cool and funny. Little girl karate chopping table legs is something I don't think will ever be topped when the McDonald's ads for the Mulan remake come out. Though, maybe they might bring back the szechuan sauce... and hopefully there won't be any shortages leading to massive riots like the last time... Thanks, Rick and Morty.
