Bill Cipher is an ancient nightmare triangle demon and the main villain of Disney’s Gravity Falls. Created by Alex Hirsch, Bill is a demon of pure chaos, and we love him. To start, we carved Bill’s body out of XPS foam. We welded together his base and frame to give us a secure mount for all of the servos and electronics. His eye and eyelid were 3D printed. Everything was given a coat of DryLok to give it a stone texture and then painted. We put on the finishing touches like his hat & bowtie, added in some speakers, and then Jay did his best Bill impersonation for his voice lines. We then programmed his animation with the help of Bottango and brought him to life. We are so happy with how Bill Cipher turned out! He looks around, floats, blinks, and even insults you.
