Media Lens: Usapang Media Power at Digital Responsibility This talk show analyzes the recent MSU Supreme Student Government (SSG) “Wear Black” campaign posted on social media in commemoration of the EDSA People Power Revolution. Using the concepts of Media and Information Literacy (MIL), we examine how media can influence public awareness, shape opinions, and encourage civic participation. In this discussion, we explore the Power of Media, particularly how social media can act as a watchdog that promotes accountability and democratic values. We also analyze the reactions from the comments section, highlighting how online platforms can be used for both constructive dialogue and negative interactions, which reflects the concept of the Usage Divide. Furthermore, the talk show addresses issues related to digital citizenship, including responsible communication, respectful criticism, and the importance of avoiding cyberbullying or public shaming in online discussions. Through this analysis, we also discuss how student organizations and leaders can balance advocacy, neutrality, and ethical responsibility when sharing messages in digital spaces. This video aims to encourage viewers to become critical thinkers and responsible digital citizens, reminding us that while media has the power to inform and influence society, it also carries the responsibility to communicate with accuracy, fairness, and respect for diverse perspectives.
