Two of JINSA's top military experts joined Fox News's Martha MacCallum on March 16 to share their analyses of the state of play 17 days into the U.S.-Israel war against Iran. JINSA Generals and Admirals Program participant Vice Admiral Mark Fox, USN (ret.), the former Commander of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, described his views on how the United States should respond to Iran's effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz. VADM (ret.) Fox stressed the need to eliminate Iran's capacity "to put mines in the water, or to shoot coastal defense cruise missiles." VADM (ret.) Fox also noted that "the Iranians have shown their true stripes — they have attacked Oman, for Pete's sake. That's the Switzerland of the Middle East!" Underscoring the need for a multilateral approach to the Strait of Hormuz issue, former U.S. National Security Council member and JINSA Iran Policy Project strategic advisor Vice Admiral Robert Harward, USN (ret.), emphasized that "a coalition of our partners being part of the solution is so important."
