Laparoscopic repair is the gold standard treatment for ventral abdominal wall hernias. Modern techniques of hernia repair have been evolved from conventional composite mesh to retro rectus sub lay mesh. Retrospectus mesh repair involves the placement of a plain polypropylene mesh in an extraperitoneal plane of the abdominal wall. This approach has some advantages over the conventional composite mesh.
