This is Mazda’s best seller It’s their compact SUV CRV RAV4 Forester What’s the Carbon Turbo I call it the playboy spec Big turbo power We’ll talk about this more on the next point Fancy black accents and styling package Grille Headlights darkened LEDs as std Lower splitter Wheel arches 19 in wheels Wing mirrors Rear diffuser Plus there’s some stuff going on inside that we’ll talk about a little later Engine Here you get the 2.5T On premium gas it makes 256 hp 320 lbft On regular gas it makes 227 hp 310 lbft This still makes it the most powerful in the segment If you don't count RAV4 Or MAzda’s own CX50 Little Maza logo embossed in underside of hood AWD Standard across all trims Love to see it This is what i got wrong last video Also a 6 speed auto Means 0-60 is done in under 6.5 sec Very quick for the segment (Prime) Fuel economy That big power and performance has a penalty tho 24 mpg combined isn't great Color Mazda is known for their Soul Red paint But a year or two we tested the CX50 and it came out with this Zircon sand metallic This spec reminds me A LOT of that car For the carbon turbo you can only get White Or zircon sand metallic here ($450) The non turbo carbon edition will give you gray and some other options Trunk The CX5 is arguably the best looking inthe segment Maybe only CX50 is better But looks come at a price here The trunk is still practical but not huge 29 cu ft My wife and I own CX5s and we’ve driven across country in them a couple times Power trailgate But no close and lock Floor can lower about 2 inches Can drop rear seats from trunk Cant in blazer EV last week This is 6 in shorter than CX50 BUT with the rear seats down your trunk here is bigger than CX50 59 cuft Interior spec Terracotta here is the only interior for Carbon turbo Non turbos can get red interior Looks expensive as hekk in here Brown contrast stitch Interestingly, the accenting isn’t carbon fiber Misleading? Towing Not many people will tow with this thing But you can tow up to 2000 lbs Cx50 will go up to 3500 lbs Rear seats Touch unlock only front doors Terracotta interior the only way you’re getting your carbon turbo Looks excellent Legroom is tight Headroom is good tho Vents Chargers hidden in center armrest No heated rear seats Can option Front luxuries Heated and cooled seats Get REALLY hot Memory seats No heated steering wheel here Can option No pano roof Have to get cx50 for that Cluster Semi digital here 7 in screen Other brands are bringing full digital HUD here is decent, but simple Safety & steering wheel Autopilot suite is ok, but lacking in comparison Adaptive cruise, lane keep, but no lane centering Paddle shifters tho Center screen 10.25 inches std Wireless acp & aa here now for 2024 ACP is touch screen but native UI isnt… ACP is only touchscreen in park and low speeds No 360 camera here Can option This has nav equipped $450 - skip Drive modes Mi drive Normal Sport Offroad No adaptive suspension so it’s not a huge change Housekeeping No ambient light Super wack LED headlights std but turn signal not LED? Rear doors open 90 degrees Nice for loading kids Price The CX5 starts at 29,300 The non turbo carbon starts 32k Carbon turbo starts 37k As tested w/ delivery 39,400
