Flow Bench Quickie Demo

I recently found a short video hiding on my computer that shows the basics of operating my flow bench. A device for flowing dry air through the ports of an engine. When the vacumn blower is switched on it makes a lot of noise. I turned the sound right down in the video during that period. Here is a description of what is going on during that period. 1. Set the valve opening, measuring with a dial gauge. 2. Start recording flow and differential pressures. Several samples are averaged over a 3 to 4 sec period. A progress indicator keeps me amused. 3. The sampling stops and that reading is plotted. 4. Return to 1. and repeat for the number of opening steps. When finished, all the data from that run such as pressure, flow, temperatures, humidity, barometric pressure, swirl or tumble can be saved if required for later comparison with other runs. #flowbench , #portflow , #cfm , #pressuredifference , #manometer , #cylinderhead , #porting
