Started in 1919 it is the oldest operating airline in the world. Fleet of 110 aircraft and 35,488 employees. KLM Aisa is a wholly owned subsidiary registered in Taiwan and established in 1995 to operate flights to Taipei without affecting KLM’s operations in China. In 1975 KLM introduced the 747 Combi to deal with overcapacity. In 1983 KLM began converting some of their 747-200’s to the stretched upper deck version and also added the 747-300. The 747-400 was introduced in 1989. KLM began a relationship with Northwest Airlines and later a partnership with Air France in 2003 and joined the SkyTeam Alliance in 2004.
