The ¼" copper electrode has a flat tip with slightly rounded edges. The square tube is resting on a copper grounding plane but an alligator clip could be clipped directly to the plate or the tube . Time between weld actuations is minimal as can be seen in the video. Weld splash is noticeable on the thinner pieces of material and could be alleviated by increasing the pressure applied (using a weld head or other pressure applying device). The pressure actuated hand piece is set at maximum pressure to perform these welds. As seen in the video, the hold strength is enough to keep the plate attached to the tube for handling and maneuvering purposes but not sufficient if shear force is applied (peel test).
