The Swiss architect and educator elaborates on the design philosophies that guide his practice with an aim to extend the discipline’s parameters from the physiological to the meteorological. The conversation stems from Rahm's curation of 'Four degrees Celsius between you and me', the main exhibition for the third edition of the Île-de-France Architecture and Landscape Biennale (Bap! 2025), situated in Versailles, co-curated with Tunisian architect Sana Frini. The exhibition presents architectural responses to a speculative future where France experiences sub-tropical climatic conditions. Spotlighting traditional responses to extreme climates, Rahm and Frini aim to reconceive climate as essential to architectural design. This same guiding ethos has shaped Rahm's practice for more than two decades. Video: Courtesy of STIR Images: Rafael Gamo; Courtesy of Philippe Rahm architectes Read more: http://bit.ly/44q03Nf
