Relaxing ASMR Sketchbook Session - Flower Fairies | no music, no talking

Cicely Mary Barker was an artist born in the late 1800s. She was skilled at blending the true beauty of nature by studying plants and flowers from life, and fantasy with the whimsical fairy characters. When her paintings were completed, she wrote the accompanying poems. Studying Barker’s work allowed me to look inward. At the time of recording this sketchbook session, I was in an incredibly low mental state. Barker herself was chronically ill, being physically frail and suffering from epilepsy as a child. Reading about an artist creating through illness, and her name even being so similar to mine, felt like I was looking at another form of my own creative soul in a struggling mind/body. And if she was able to create art that is to this day still making an impact and inspiration on people, then maybe I can too. Maybe I’m on the right path. I hope this video inspires you to pick up a pencil and an art book and let yourself learn and grow.
