In 1936, Germany was experiencing a period of transformation marked by the absolute control of the Nazi regime. Under Adolf Hitler's leadership, propaganda permeated every aspect of daily life, from education to entertainment. The population was constantly exposed to speeches and images that exalted the figure of the Führer and reinforced the idea of a people united under a common ideal. The regime sought to shape not only politics but also the mentality and behavior of every citizen. The economy showed signs of recovery after the post-war crisis and the Great Depression. The government promoted major infrastructure projects, such as the construction of highways and factories, which reduced unemployment and generated a sense of progress. However, these achievements were accompanied by increasing militarization, as industry focused on preparing the country for the impending war. Many Germans felt that the future was once again promising, although this optimism was built on a dangerous foundation. In social life, surveillance and control were constant. Youth organizations, such as the Hitler Youth, indoctrinated young people from an early age, instilling obedience, discipline, and unwavering loyalty to the regime. At the same time, those who did not share Nazi ideology or belonged to persecuted minorities, such as Jews, were increasingly marginalized, suffering restrictions in work, education, and public life. The year 1936 was also marked by symbolic events such as the Berlin Olympic Games, an international showcase through which the regime sought to showcase a modern and powerful Germany. For many Germans, these events reinforced national pride and the illusion of a rebirth under Hitler. However, behind this facade of unity and greatness lay the seeds of terror and repression that would soon be unleashed throughout Europe.
