📍 Weekly Walks – Episode Nine Curbar Edge Circular Walk | Peak District National Park In this episode of Weekly Walks, I head into the Peak District to explore the dramatic gritstone escarpment of Curbar Edge — one of the most iconic viewpoints in the national park. Starting near Curbar Gap, this walk quickly climbs onto the edge where wide open moorland meets sweeping valley views across the Derwent Valley. The route follows the gritstone ridge with constant views before looping back across quieter moorland paths and countryside tracks. Curbar Edge is one of those places that perfectly captures the wild, open feel of the Peak District. The landscape here is shaped by wind, weather, and centuries of natural erosion, leaving behind the striking rock formations that make this edge so memorable. This is a great walk if you're looking for: • One of the best viewpoint walks in the Peak District • A short circular route with huge scenery • Classic Peak District gritstone edges • A walk that feels wild but is still easily accessible 🏔 Walk Highlights Curbar Edge Curbar Edge is part of a long chain of gritstone edges that define the eastern side of the Peak District. The cliffs here were formed over millions of years and now provide spectacular viewpoints over the Derwent Valley and surrounding countryside. Peak District Moorland Beyond the edge the landscape opens into classic Peak District moorland. These quieter sections of the walk give a completely different feel — wide skies, rough grasses, and a real sense of space. Derwent Valley Views Throughout the walk you’ll get panoramic views across the valley, with farmland, woodland, and distant hills stretching out below. 🥾 Route Info Location: Curbar Edge, Peak District National Park Start point: Curbar Gap Car Park Route type: Circular walk Terrain: Gritstone edge paths, moorland tracks, uneven ground in places Suitable for: Most abilities with reasonable fitness 🔗 Plan This Walk 👉 Full walk guide, photos & route details: https://travelsinmyvan.com (Search “Curbar Edge Weekly Walks Episode Nine” on the site) 👉 More Weekly Walks across the UK: https://travelsinmyvan.com/weekly-walks/ 👉 Peak District Walks & Hikes Hub: https://travelsinmyvan.com/peak-distr... 🚐 Travels In My Van I share realistic UK walks, countryside adventures, and van-based trips — no full-time van life hype, just genuine places worth exploring. 👍 If you enjoyed the walk, please like the video 📌 Subscribe for weekly UK walks & outdoor adventures 💬 Drop a comment if you’ve walked Curbar Edge — or have a favourite Peak District edge! #PeakDistrict #CurbarEdge #WeeklyWalks #PeakDistrictWalks #UKWalks #HikingUK
