Dynamic Distance Direct Ophthalmoscopy (DDDO): Novel method of accommodation assessment in children.
This video demonstrates two novel methods of assessment of accommodation in children and neurologically impaired children invented at Jyotirmay Eye Clinic. This technique was first describe by Dr Mihir Kothari in 2011 and improvised in three years to not only find the quality of the defect but also find the magnitude of the defect. The technique is simple, easy, reliable and quick. An important advantage over dynamic retinoscopy is DDDO can be done on both the eyes simultaneously. At present I believe this is the only objective, clinical and manual method to detect the anomalies of accommodation in children's eyes bilaterally simultaneously.
