This video presents a practical, end-to-end sample implementation of the PoPP ecosystem, consisting of a PoPP Service and a PoPP Client, fully aligned with the gemSpec_PoPP_Service specification. The goal is to make PoPP tangible and executable—not just a concept on paper, but a working, inspectable system. The eGK hash database is implemented using PostgreSQL, and all components can be run either locally or via Docker for maximum flexibility. You’ll see how the PoPP Client interacts with real eGK test cards using standard PC/SC card readers or a TI connector, including secure APDU communication, card session handling, and PoPP token generation. The video walks through contact-based and contactless scenarios, demonstrates connector-based integrations, and highlights how TLS-secured communication with ECC is configured and tested in realistic environments. All required keys and keystores are intentionally included so the project runs out of the box, keeping the focus on understanding and integration rather than setup friction. From local builds and containerized deployments to automated tests and a simple REST endpoint for generating PoPP tokens, this project serves as a clear, reproducible reference implementation. It is designed for developers, architects, and decision-makers who want to explore PoPP in depth, validate gematik-compliant flows, and use a solid foundation for further experimentation or production-grade implementations.
