NRT's Exciting Launch: The Indigenous Food Security Initiative

In this video, we are thrilled to announce the launch of the Indigenous Food Security Initiative (FS), a new venture by the New Relationship Trust (NRT). Partnering with the Province of British Columbia and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, our three-year program aims to meet Indigenous communities at any stage of their agriculture, food security, and food sovereignty journey. Funding will be available in two streams: one for planning and design, the other for implementation and capital contributions. From feasibility studies and business planning to scaling up Indigenous-owned food operations and installing community greenhouses, the FSI provides a platform for agricultural growth and food sovereignty. The initiative welcomes applications from BC-based First Nation communities, governing bodies, Indigenous-led organizations, Indigenous businesses, and entrepreneurs.
