Must have tool for starting the main strings on a floating clamp tennis stringing machine. You need to see this now and DIY. The 'Starting Pin' comes with the KlipperMate stringing machine. This is a must have tool when stringing a racket using the floating clamp system. The purpose of such a tool is to aid in securing the first main string in your racket. This tool eliminates the need to pull two mains or to pull a string more than once to secure the first main. This tool is only used if your machine uses the floating clamps. Floating clamps always need to be secured on two strings because it uses the string before to secure the next string. You can DIY a tool that works the same as the "starting pin'. You will need a medium size rubber stopper, large paperclip, a small metal crimping piece. You might also use super glue. You will take the rubber stopper and carefully make a hole through the center using a thin long awl, open a large paperclip and stick through, you can put superglue in the hole before putting paperclip through. You will then make a loop with the end of the paperclip so that the clip won't come back through the stopper. See video for more information.
