All right, if you have the upright side slide down, it's time to take a closer look at the inverted side slide! One of the unique characteristics of a quad lined kite is that you can stop it dead anywhere in the wind window and make it stick there like it was glued to the spot; AKA the hover. And when your kite sitting in a stable upright hover, it’s a great starting point for one of the other unique features for a QLK; the slide! Yes, you can fly your kite sideways all across the wind window … and back. This move is called a slide or a side slide, and you can do it in two ways. Either with your leading-edge facing up, an upright side slide, or the leading edge facing down, an inverted side slide. Both the upright and inverted slides have quite a few things in common. Some time ago I made a tutorial for the upright side slide. This time I’ve taken a closer look at the inverted side slide. And if you follow along with this tutorial, I’m pretty sure you’ll be sliding that kite in an inverted position pretty soon! All right, let's dive into it! --Chapters- 0:00 - Introduction 1:45 - Unique QLK characteristics 2:28 - What you need to know by now 2:45 - No ONE truth 3:07 - Why I'm using a short set of lines 3:44 - The MAIN difference between the upright and the inverted side slides 4:29 - Talking you through the basics 4:48 - Breaking it all down 5:43 - Step 1) Fly into the hover 7:02 - Step 2) Hold and tend the hover 8:41 - Step 3) Start inverted side slide to the left 10:53 - Step 4) Stop the inverted side slide 12:42 - Step 5) Start inverted side slide, now to the right 13:58 - Step 6) Stop the inverted side slide 14:26 - Summary 15:05 - A few words on body language 15:34 - Wrapping it all up 16:05 - Showoff! --A few useful links mentioned in this tutorial- Tutorial: The Hover • Another tutorial: The Hover Tutorial: Improve Your Hovers • Another Tutorial: Improve Your Hovers Tutorial: The QLK Angle of Attack • Another Tutorial: The QLK Angle of Attack Tutorial: More on the Angle of Attack * • Tutorial: More on the Angle of Attack
