Sutureless Glueless Pterygium Surgery - The Autologous Blood Method

There are 2 classical ways to attach an Auto-conjunctival graft to pterygium bed. Sutures, which cause lot of post-operative discomfort, and Fibrin Glue, which is costly hence not suitable for using regularly in a low cost setting in a developing country like India. Here i am presenting the 3rd method, i.e, using Autologous blood. This method is easy to learn, reproducible readily and gives good cosmesis too, all while not costing at all for the fixation of graft. The graft fixation is excellent with rare displacement.
