In Late 2019, The Bukit Panjang LRT reduced its service operations in order to carry out retrofitting works across the entire system as an effort to save the LRT due to it’s unreliability. Ever since then for the past 5 years, Service A was reduced to operating on only Peak Hours during the weekdays. On Weekends & Public Holidays, the service was never throughout the day operational.. After what felt like an eternity, on the 30th of June 2024, The LTA partially resumed the operations of Service A on Sundays between the selected times of 11am-1pm & 5pm-7pm. After which, on the 28th of September this year (2024). The LTA resumed full day operations of Service A on Weekends & Public Holidays as progress was going well. Subsequently fast forward to today, on the 30th of December 2024, right before the new year, the LTA resumed full day operations of Servjce A on both weekdays and weekends & public holidays providing commuters the choice of either services on the LRT since 2019. In this video, I filmed some incoming & outgoing Service A trains while also riding onboard Service A on two different trains, first riding the new & sleek Alstom C801Bs (Set 135/136) before lastly onboard the classic old but iconic C801s (108/104).. Which are currently being phased out.. I hope you like this.!
